The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Plateau State branch says it will work with all stakeholders in the state towards building a stronger and effective society that will respond to emergency situations with the required professionalism.

According to it, it is ready to provide support to all vulnerable groups including victims of disasters, epidemics, and the poorest in both urban and rural areas with particular focus on women and children, the aged and the displaced among others.

A statement by its Secretary, Manasseh Panpe therefore solicits the support and cooperation of all stakeholders including Government, nongovernmental organizations, religious bodies and community associations among others towards the attainment of this mandate.

The statement highlights new developments in the branch towards better articulation of its goals and objectives to include the election of new exco to lead the body for a period of four years.

The statement reads:

“The Nigeria Red Cross Society, Plateau State Branch now has a new Executive Committee Members to run the affairs of the Branch for the next four years. The EXCO, made up of twelve members has a onetime Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief John M. Mankilik as Chairman.

“Other members of the committee include:
Prof. S.U. Fwatshak – Vice Chairman, Justice Nafisat Lawal Musa – Treasurer, Barr. Izang Azi Madaki – Legal Adviser, Usman Masara Kim – Information Adviser, Barr. Sunday Yakubu – Divisional Relations Adviser, Dapiring Tobias Bribgwe – Training Adviser, Pam Danladi Yohana – Youth Adviser, Dr. Ozoilo Keneth – Health Adviser, Yunana Arin – Finance & Planning Adviser, Mrs. Ewarewah Pauline Ebimone and Yawale Muhammad – Fund Raising Adviser. 

“The EXCO to serve for a period of four years, emerged after a transparent, free and fair election, by delegates made up of Divisional Chairpersons of the RED CROSS from 15 Divisions out of the 17 Local Governments of Plateau State.

“The election was conducted by an electoral committee, set up by the Branch EXCO and supervised by officials from the National Headquarters following the expiration of tenure of the immediate past EXCO.

“With this new development, the Red Cross in the State is assuring of its readiness to work with all relevant stakeholders in the state towards the building of a stronger and effective National Society that will continue to respond to emergency situations with the required professionalism, which forms its core objectives.

“The Branch of the RED CROSS therefore assures of its readiness to provide support to vulnerable people who include victims of disasters, epidemics, and the poorest in both urban and rural areas amongst whom are women and children, the aged and the displaced among others.

“The State Branch therefore wishes to solicit the support and cooperation of all stakeholders including Government, nongovernmental organizations, religious bodies and community associations among others towards the attainment of this mandate.”
